Where it all started

Geiger Electric was founded as Geiger Electric, Inc. by Jerry Geiger, on July 1, 1981. Jerry first learned about electrical work while in the US Air Force, stationed in Gila Bend, AZ.  After getting married to Debbie, leaving the Air Force, and settling down in Glendale with a new baby, Jerry began doing small jobs and service calls in the residential and commercial sectors and Geiger Electric was born. Quickly, Jerry was awarded a job on an industrial contract, and there ignited his desire to work in the industrial setting. Through the early years of growing the business, Jerry and Debbie also grew their family with a second baby.  Fast forward through 40 years of learning, hard work and dedication, in  2021, Jerry and Debbie retired from Geiger Electric. The family business has stayed in the family, as it was purchased by their second son, Bryan, and his wife, Sarah, and restructured to Geiger Electric LLC.

Bryan grew up learning the electrical trade. He has many memories of going with his dad to visit customers, supply houses and even being put to work with a screwdriver putting covers on switches and receptacles. Through his years as an electrician’s helper, he learned the meaning of hard work and the importance of taking care of customer’s electrical needs. Bryan went on to complete a full 4-year electrical apprenticeship program through the Independent Electrical Contractors of Arizona. Over the years, he continued to work his way through various positions at Geiger Electric until he landed as a Project Manager for many years until Jerry and Debbie’s retirement in 2021.

Sarah grew up in the small farming community of Palo Verde, AZ.  She comes from a family of entrepreneurs, and has many memories of riding in the semi-truck with her dad and spending weekends at cotton gins around the state, marking and loading bales of hay with her siblings, parents and grandparents. Sarah first attended community college and earned two Associate Degrees in Business and Accounting from Estrella Mountain Community College.  In 2009, she graduated from Arizona State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.

How it all came together

Bryan and Sarah met through FFA and became friends. They began dating in 2002.  A few years later, they became engaged, and were married in 2006. Sarah worked in the office at Geiger Electric for several years while finishing college until their first baby was born, followed by three more. When Jerry and Debbie decided to retire, it was perfect timing.  As Bryan and Sarah’s youngest headed off to Kindergarten, Sarah headed back to the office with Bryan.  Since then, Bryan and Sarah have enjoyed working together, and are looking to continue growing themselves and the business together over the next many years.

What about Mechanical?

In the spring of 2011, Bryan decided, with Sarah’s support, to attend the Refrigeration School Incorporated (RSI) in the evenings after work. With patience and determination, Bryan graduated from the program a little over a year later.  After years of practice and guidance from mentors in the industry, Bryan followed his dream of opening a second business and Geiger Mechanical was born.  Bryan takes pride in providing honest and fair evaluations, repairs and installations for a variety of customers from residences, businesses and our friends in the agriculture industry.
